The short version
- This site aims for WCAG 2.2 AA and works with a keyboard and screen readers.
- Reduced-motion settings switch off smooth scrolling, scroll animations and autoplay.
- The game has rebinding, colour-blind cues, reduced flashing, interface scaling and left-handed touch controls.
- Matches themselves are fast and visual; we're honest about that below.
This summary is for convenience; the full text below is what applies.
Our commitment
We want as many people as possible to enjoy Skyscrap. This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and the game is built with settings that let you shape it around how you play.
On this website
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can move around them.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, smooth scrolling and scroll-driven animations are switched off, videos don’t play by themselves, and the 3D jetpack is replaced by a still image.
- Every looping video has a pause button and no sound.
- Images that carry information have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and background colours are chosen to meet AA contrast, and text can be resized to 200%.
- Nothing on the site has a time limit.
In the game
Settings in the current build include:
- Rebind every keyboard and mouse control
- Touch controls from 80% to 130% size, plus a left-handed layout
- Aim assist for touch and gamepad, on or off
- Crosshair style, colour and size
- Interface size from 85% to 130%
- Colour-blind-friendly cues (blue and orange instead of green and red)
- Reduced flashing for muzzle, explosion and hit effects
- Damage numbers on or off
- Separate volume for music, effects and menus
- Gamepad support, menus included
Matches against bots can be paused at any time, and the Recruit difficulty gives bots slow reactions and loose aim if you want a gentler match. Damage, kills and pickups are shown on screen as well as heard.
Known limitations
- Matches are fast and visual and need quick reactions on two controls at once. Screen readers can’t follow the action during a match.
- The game currently has no option to slow the game speed.
- Some text in the game’s HUD is small on phone screens; the interface-size setting helps.
Tell us what's not working
If something on the site or in the game is hard to use, email support@skyscrap.fun with “Accessibility” in the subject. Tell us what you were trying to do and what you use, such as a screen reader, switch device or magnifier. We aim to reply within five working days.
How we checked
We assessed this website ourselves in October 2026, with automated checks and by testing with a keyboard and with reduced-motion settings. We’ll repeat the checks as the site grows, and update this statement.
