Community guidelines

Skyscrap is for loud, silly, competitive fun. These rules keep it that way for everyone.

Last updated

The short version

  • Play fair: no cheats, hacks, macros, exploits or ban dodging.
  • Respect people: no harassment, hate, threats or sharing personal information.
  • Keep callsigns clean, and don't impersonate anyone.
  • Report problems; a person reviews serious cases and appeals.
  • Cheating and hate mean a permanent ban.

This summary is for convenience; the full text below is what applies.

Play fair

Win with your thumbs, not with tools. Don’t:

  • use cheats, hacks, modified game files, injected scripts or anything that changes how the game runs;
  • use macros, auto-clickers, aimbots or other automation (the game’s own aim assist is fine);
  • exploit bugs to get an advantage; report them to us instead;
  • team up with opponents in free-for-all, trade wins or feed kills to boost someone’s stats;
  • make new profiles to dodge a ban; or
  • attack, overload or disrupt our servers or other players’ connections.

Respect other players

Trash-talk the shot, not the person. Don’t:

  • harass, bully, threaten or stalk anyone, in the game or around it;
  • attack people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, tribe, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar trait;
  • post sexual content, or anything that sexualises minors, ever;
  • share anyone’s personal information, including your own;
  • spam, scam, or advertise; or
  • pretend to be another player, a moderator or someone who works on Skyscrap.

Callsigns

Your callsign is the first thing other players see. It must not:

  • contain slurs, hate, sexual references or threats, even with swapped letters or spacing;
  • include personal information such as phone numbers or addresses;
  • advertise, or include links or social handles to promote something; or
  • impersonate another player, a public figure or our staff.

Online play will filter offensive callsigns automatically, and we may rename any the filter misses.

Quick-chat

Online play uses preset quick-chat messages instead of free text. Use them to play, not to spam or to follow someone around a match.

Streams and videos

Streaming and posting videos is welcome; see the fan content policy. Don’t join a streamer’s match to harass them, and don’t send viewers after other players.

Reporting

When online play launches you’ll be able to report players from inside the game, and vote to remove a disruptive player from a match. For anything serious, or anything we should know about now, email support@skyscrap.fun with the player’s callsign and tag, when it happened and what they did. A screenshot or clip helps.

Reports are confidential. Deliberately false or abusive reports break these guidelines too.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

What happens when rules are broken

We match the response to what happened and whether it has happened before:

  1. a warning;
  2. a forced rename, or a reset of statistics;
  3. a temporary suspension from online play; and
  4. a permanent ban.

Cheating, threats, hate and anything involving the exploitation of children skip straight to a permanent ban, and we may report illegal content to the authorities.

Appeals

If you think we made a mistake, email support@skyscrap.fun within 30 days with your callsign and tag and why you think the decision was wrong. A person will review it and reply.

Found a security problem?

Thank you. Please don’t test it on other players. Follow the security policy so we can fix it safely.
