Project Jetpack is now Skyscrap

The working title is retired. Here's where the new name comes from, and what you can play today.

The game started life as Project Jetpack, a working title that was only ever meant to last until the game had a personality of its own. It does now, and its name is Skyscrap.

Why Skyscrap

A scrap is a fight, and every Skyscrap fight happens in the air: over rooftops, between catwalks, around a temple’s tiers. It nods at skyscrapers and at the Neon Rooftops arena, and at the bits of scrap metal that fly off every explosion. It’s short, easy to say and spell, and it works as an invite: “Skyscrap tonight?”

What you can play today

  • Five arenas: Kilima Outpost, Frostbite Station, Neon Rooftops, Dune Refinery, Jungle Temple.
  • Six guns, frag grenades, melee and exploding barrels.
  • Four bot levels, from Recruit to Hard.
  • An avatar editor where every option is unlocked.
  • Touch, keyboard and mouse, and gamepad, with rebinding and accessibility settings.

The whole thing is about 490 KB compressed and starts from a link.

Your saves come with you

If you played an earlier build, your callsign, avatar and settings move across to the new name automatically the first time you open Skyscrap. Nothing to do.
